2014 Presidents Letter: James Roy Pope
Warmest greetings to all! It is with great honor that I am serving as your 2014 SLA St. Louis President. I would first like to Thank all the members of this honorable organization for all their hard work and dedication to the SLA of St. Louis. Without you all this great club could not do what it does for so many!!
For those of you who do not know me personally, I am a third generation showman. It has been a family tradition for my family for over 90 years. I am married to Petrina Pope and we have two wonderful kids, James Joseph 18, and Sara Ann 14. Joseph is a Freshman at The University of Tennessee at Martin, and Sara Ann is a freshman at Greenfield High School where she is a cheerleader. We own independent concessions and rides. Our route takes us through Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida.
After a very wet rainy season and a very cold and dreary Winter, we are so ready for Spring! I hope that 2014 brings great success to my fellow showmen.
Our Winter meeting in Gibsonton will be held on the second floor of the museum again, on Thursday, February 6 at 2:00 pm. Our fellow club has been gracious to offer this space. It worked out well with our growing number of attendees at this meeting last year, and I am looking forward to it this year! I hope to see you all there!
